The human voice is beautiful
It is an incredible feat of engineering comprising anatomy, physiology, and psychology organised to create vibration, intention and connection.
Expanding on my long and varied career as an actress, I teach voice to anyone who wants to speak with more ease, breathe with more depth, and find the space to resonate.
About me
I found a place to express myself at drama school and built up a long and varied career in theatre, tv and film.
Having a family meant sidestepping into the Voiceover industry; I could work around my caring responsibilities and still tell stories. It brought my awareness to issues that influence vocality and ignited my interest in how to work on the voice.
I studied for a Masters in Voice at Central and came away with distinction and a desire to teach voice to actors early in their careers so that their voices remain flexible, adaptable and truthful to work in our increasingly digitised society.
My practice has expanded and I work with anyone who needs help elevating and exploring their voice. I am fascinated in the ways we articulate thoughts, speak with truth, comprehend the messages we give, find confidence in words and feel listened to.
I know personally how grief, stress and vocal health impact the voice; I have a deepening interest and understanding in how to help people explore these areas so that they can articulate themselves more freely, become more grounded and fluent, their bodies more expansive and their expressions richer.
Removing the blocks that inhibit the human instrument frees the voice and elevates our presence. Voice is an intricate alchemy of what you hear, how you hear it and how you unconsciously choose to use it.
